Did they go?

Remember my previous post regarding the protest against the Croatian PM Ivo Sanader? Were you curious if anyone did turn up for the event across the country despite of yesterday's horrible weather?

Yes, and you can see it on the image that we've taken off the TV (oops). But the number that were interested in this event on the Facebook group amounted to more than tens of thousands, the actual number that attended the event in various towns.. Zagreb, Rijeka, Split, Osijek... was only a few thousand in total. Mostly youths who were really unhappy with the current state in the country.

So this event did not cause any major harm to the PM's political seat. He is still sitting comfortably there waiting for the next election. Well.. I'm just an outsider. What can I say?

There was a big riot against the Hungarian PM some years ago when the recording of him saying that the govt "fucked up" got into the hands of the people. Few years later, he is still there. LOL

My husband says, both govt and opposition are not competent. So regardless which you choose, you get the same.

As you say, we are outsiders. But at least if you really hate what's going on you can pack your bags and go back to Sg. Not so easy for the locals.

Syari..
Your husband is right about the part... both govt and opposition are equally in competent. Same situation in Croatian. Sighs.. all the same.

I wish I can leave that easily. I have to worry about my fiance...

Now we just wish for better days. Wishing, hoping....

Sher, I suppose it is easier to get a job in Singapore for your Fiance? Easier to get permit and visa there.

In Malaysia, my husband had to stay on tourist visa and getting job is not as easy. The only permit he could get is spouse permit that is renewable every year. And every year hassle. You know lah immigration officers sometimes hard to work with.

Oh Syari...
Everywhere is not easy and usually one of the two has to sacrifice when relocating.. Just hope we can work out a win-win solution soon.
